Dubai Bombing: The UAE's most populous city, Dubai, reported several explosions in the Jebel Ali industrial area, with reports linking the incident to a suspected Houthi attack amid renewed regional diplomacy.

New Delhi, August 5: Dubai's Jebel Ali industrial area, home to the country's crucial port for trade and business, reported back-to-back explosions and a massive fire on Tuesday, according to Iran's Mehr news agency. The incident has raised security concerns in the area, as officials suspect Yemen's Houthi rebels may be behind the attack. This also comes as peace talks between the United States, Iran and Oman are getting back on track.

Videos shared on social media showed thick black smoke and large flames rising from the industrial zone. The footage quickly spread online, although officials have not confirmed its authenticity.

Emirati authorities acknowledged that at least seven explosions were heard within about 20 minutes. However, they did not immediately say what caused the blasts, Arab media reports.

The UAE's state media has not released a detailed official statement. It only confirmed that multiple explosions were heard in the Jebel Ali area.

Large Fire at Jebel Ali Port

NASA's thermal satellite imagery showed a large fire near the Jebel Ali Port. The blaze appeared to be at a warehouse used for fuel storage and fuel transfer. The port is one of the Middle East's busiest shipping hubs and plays a key role in regional trade.

Arab media also reported that at least two people were detained after filming the fire. Officials have not confirmed these reports. There is also no official information on casualties or the extent of the damage.

Blasts in Yemen's Sanaa

At the same time, explosions were reported in Yemen's capital, Sanaa. Reports on the cause remain unclear. Some sources said the blasts were caused by air strikes, while others claimed they were linked to missile launches from Yemeni territory.

The reported attack comes at a sensitive time. The United States, Iran and Oman are continuing discussions aimed at reducing tensions in the region. The latest incident could add pressure to those diplomatic efforts if the reports are confirmed.

No Responsibility Taken Yet

There has been no official claim of responsibility for the explosions. Independent verification of the reported Houthi attack is still awaited. Authorities in the UAE are expected to provide more details as the investigation continues.
