India's Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra met Walmart CEO Chris Nicholas and technology leaders to discuss AI, quantum computing, investment expansion, supply chain resilience and India-US tech cooperation.
Washington, June 9: India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, held a series of meetings with leading American technology and business executives on Monday, focusing on investment opportunities, supply chain resilience, and the future of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
During his visit, Kwatra met Chris Nicholas, President and CEO of Walmart, and discussed the company's growing presence in India as well as opportunities for further investment and collaboration.
"A productive conversation with Chris Nicholas, President and CEO of @Walmart, on their investments in India, to discuss investment expansion, supply chain resilience, and emerging technologies," Kwatra said in a post on X on Tuesday.

Walmart has significantly expanded its footprint in India in recent years through investments in retail, e-commerce and digital commerce. In June last year, senior Walmart leadership met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the company's growing partnership with India and its long-term investment plans in the country.
Kwatra also met Ylli Bajraktari, President and CEO of the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), a US-based organisation focused on advancing technology and innovation policies.
"Insightful conversation with @Ylli_Bajraktari, President & CEO of @scsp_ai, ahead of his upcoming visit to New Delhi for the India-US Forum," Kwatra posted.
The discussions centred on the rapid development of advanced technologies and the growing scope of cooperation between India and the United States in the technology sector.
"Exchanged perspectives on the trajectory of advanced technologies, including Quantum, and the future of AI, including Physical AI and the expanding India-USA cooperation in tech space," the post on X said.
The meetings come as India and the United States continue to deepen their strategic partnership in critical and emerging technologies, with both countries seeking closer collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, quantum computing, supply chains and digital innovation.
