India gets into elite group of nations having capability to deal with inter-continental missiles

New Delhi, June 13: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully demonstrated its multi-layered defence system against long range ballistic missiles, placing India in the elite group of nations having the capability to deal with Inter-continental Ballistic Missiles.
Demonstrating crucial technologies acquired by the country, the DRDO conducted three consecutive flight-tests on June 10 and 11 to showcase the country’s capacity to deal with enemy threats.

The Multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) capability developed using the latest technologies to deal with emerging missile threats was successfully demonstrated. The interceptors successfully engaged their respective targets.
The DRDO also conducted the maiden flight-test of the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range (NASM-MR). The flight-tests were witnessed by senior officials of DRDO and Defence Forces.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO on successfully demonstrating these crucial technologies. The Defence Secretary closely monitored the trials and applauded the combined efforts of DRDO and industry.
