Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Thursday called upon the people of the country to stand united against the enemy’s psychological war. According to Khamenei, the enemy is losing on the battlefield, so they are now trying to damage public morale and weaken national resilience.

In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, Khamenei said the enemy has shifted its focus to sowing the seeds of doubt, despair, fear, mistrust, and discord among Iranians. He warned against actions or statements that could spread pessimism, frustration, or hopelessness among the public. He said such behaviour effectively helps Iran's enemies achieve their goals.

“The malicious enemy has been defeated in its confrontation with the Armed Forces. Since it has received a decisive blow both in military combat and in [Iran's] public squares and streets, it’s experiencing a profound, significant humiliation,” said Mojtaba Khamenei in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

The post added, “The enemy has focused its schemes in hybrid warfare on 2 points: the resilience of the Iranian people & trying to create errors in the assessments of the country's officials.”

“In confronting the enemy's malice, everyone must thwart its sinister scheme by way of their steadfastness, clear-sightedness, preserving unity, and refraining from echoing the enemy's narrative. Any action that causes distrust and discouragement of the Iranian people is considered to be a form of helping the enemy of this country and its people,” he said in a series of tweets Khamenei posted.

Khamenei Did Not Appear Before The Public

The Supreme Leader’s message was also read during a ceremony marking the death anniversary of Islamic Republic founder Ruhollah Khomeini, said a media report from the WION. He warned that Iran's enemies are now trying to weaken the country from within after failing to defeat it through military means.

Khamenei did not appear in person at the event. Instead, officials read out his message, in which he claimed that foreign adversaries are attempting to create divisions among Iranians and undermine public confidence in the country's political system.

Iranian Government Rejects Resignation Reports

The comments followed reports claiming that President Pezeshkian had submitted his resignation.

However, senior government officials quickly dismissed the reports and insisted that the president remains fully committed to his duties.

Mehdi Tabatabaei, Deputy Head of Communications at the Presidential Office, described the resignation claims as false. He denied that Pezeshkian had stepped down and said the reports had no basis in reality.

So far, President Pezeshkian himself has not publicly addressed the rumours. Other senior Iranian leaders have also remained largely silent on the matter.
