Trump threatens 1,000 missiles against Iran after alleged assassination plot, as Khamenei funeral chants and Hormuz attacks fuel escalating tensions.

New Delhi, July 11: "Locked missiles and aimed them at Iran," said US President Donald Trump, as he grew anxious over the assassination threats becoming a reality. Iran held a state-wide funeral for Ayatollah Khamenei, killed during the first 24 hours of the attack launched by the United States alongside Israel. At the ceremonies, civilians, artists, and some leaders called for killing Donald Trump for waging the war and killing their Supreme Leader.

It was followed by Iran's reaction through retaliatory bombings, which later escalated into a full-fledged war, affecting their military and the global economy. Other than Iran, the US, and Israel, countries like Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Lebanon were caught in the crossfire of defensive wrath. Meanwhile, the world faced skyrocketing crude oil prices for months.

"1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!" wrote Trump on Truth Social Friday.

He added: "Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran - PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!"

Has Iranian Govt Issued Assassination Orders?

So far, no Iranian government official has openly threatened to kill Donald Trump. However, during funeral processions held this week for Khamenei, some people in the crowd were caught on camera holding signs saying "Kill Trump" and shouting slogans calling for revenge.

On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israel had told the United States about a supposed Iranian plan to assassinate Trump. However, no extra details about this alleged plot were given.

Meanwhile, Trump has been speaking much more harshly about Iran lately. He called the country's leadership "scum" and said he now believes the ceasefire between the US and Iran has ended. This came as the US launched military strikes against Iran on both Wednesday and Thursday, in response to attacks on commercial ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz (a key shipping route).

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, criticised Trump for using "insulting language" and said the US was to blame for the situation getting worse again. He also said Washington had broken the terms of an agreement signed last month, stating plainly: "There can only be mutual compliance," meaning both sides need to stick to the deal, not just one.
