Modi Meets Top French CEOs, Discusses Investment and Expansion Plans in India

Paris, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leading French business executives on Thursday during his visit to France, holding discussions on investment opportunities, industrial expansion, mobility, sustainable construction, and artificial intelligence cooperation.


The meetings took place on the sidelines of Modi's visit to France, where he attended the G7 Summit and held bilateral engagements with several global leaders, including US President Donald Trump.

According to India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Modi met Benoit Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain, and discussed opportunities in the construction and materials sector, particularly focusing on sustainability and green growth.


The Prime Minister acknowledged Saint-Gobain's longstanding presence in India and its contribution to employment generation and industrial development. Bazin, in turn, outlined the company's plans to expand its investments and operations in the Indian market.


Modi also held talks with Martin Sion, CEO of rail transport giant Alstom. Discussions centred on mobility solutions and railway modernisation, with the Prime Minister highlighting Alstom's manufacturing footprint and investments in India's transport sector. Sion shared the company's plans for further expansion in the country.


In a separate meeting, Modi met Arthur Mensch, co-founder and CEO of artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI. The discussions focused on India's rapidly growing AI ecosystem and opportunities for technological collaboration.


According to the MEA, Mensch expressed strong interest in partnering with Indian companies and institutions to drive innovation and expand AI capabilities.


The meetings underscore India's efforts to attract foreign investment and strengthen partnerships with global industry leaders across key sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
