School Principal, Two Teachers Booked Over Alleged Pakistani Song Performance

New Delhi, June 19: Police have registered a case against the principal and two teachers of a private school in Maharashtra's Jalna district over allegations that students were made to perform to a Pakistani song while the photograph of a Pakistani extremist was displayed during a school programme.

The Partur police booked principal Wazhiyoddin Siddiqui and two teachers under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions related to acts endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India, promoting enmity between groups, spreading misinformation affecting national integration, and circulating false information likely to cause public alarm.

The action follows allegations circulated on social media claiming that students of Kids World English School in Partur danced to a Pakistani song during the school's annual gathering in March 2025. The posts also alleged that a photograph of Pakistani extremist Mumtaz Qadri was displayed during the performance.

Local BJP MLA Babanrao Lonikar demanded strict action against the school management and sought cancellation of the school's recognition.

However, the school administration has strongly denied the allegations.

Principal Siddiqui maintained that the music played during the programme was from the popular Turkish television series Ertugrul Ghazi and not a Pakistani song.

He further claimed that the image shown during the performance was that of an actor from the Turkish series and alleged that certain individuals had tampered with the visuals before circulating them on social media.

Police are investigating the matter.
