War Shadow Over West Asia Fades As US, Iran Strike A Deal

New Delhi, June 15: The United States and Iran have reached an agreement to end the war which is expected to be signed on Friday, leading to the re-opening of the Hormuz Strait which would help resume smooth passage of vessels for trade and oil supplies throughout the world.
“This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region… With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World!,” US President Donald J Trump posted on Truth Social.
It is not clear as to whether Hormuz Strait would re-open immediately or upon signing of the deal on Friday.
Trump first informed that the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran was complete. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!,” he posted on Truth Social.
An hour later, Trump again posted about the deal and this time he talked about “opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday”.
Iran confirmed the agreement on state television but said the country would not start implementing it until it was signed on Friday.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed that the “Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED”.
Sharif posted on X that both sides had declared “immediate and permanent termination” of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The deal will be signed on June 19 (Friday) in Switzerland.
Sharif, the premier of Pakistan - a mediator, said on X that the pre-implementation discussions throughout the week will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.
Meanwhile, Trump, who celebrated his birthday on Sunday, targeted the Democrats for allowing Iran to accumulate nuclear weapons. “The Obuma Deal was a road to a Nuclear weapon for Iran, cash and all, one of the worst and dumbest (hence Dumocrats!) Deals ever made by the U.S. Our Deal is a WALL against Iran ever having a Nuclear weapon, the complete opposite of Obuma,” he posted on his social media handle.
