Patna, June 4: Bihar Police have detained two security guards posted outside the Khan Global Studies (KGS) institute in Patna, a day after stones were allegedly hurled at the coaching centre, officials said on Thursday. The action came after police recovered a purported video that appeared to show the two guards firing shots during the disturbance on Tuesday night. According to officials, both guards have been taken into custody for questioning as the officials try to establish the exact sequence of events.
A group of around 15-20 people allegedly pelted stones at the coaching institute and vandalised its premises. The institute is run by educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir. Police have registered a case at Kadamkuan police station and launched an investigation.
"During the investigation, police obtained a purported video showing two individuals carrying out aerial firing. After verifying the footage, two guards linked to KGS were taken into custody for questioning," the City SP (Central) office said in a statement.

Weapon Used During Firing Outside Khan Sir Coaching Centre Seized
Police have also seized the weapons allegedly used in the firing and sent them for forensic examination.
Following the incident, Khan Sir had alleged that individuals linked to a rival coaching institute were responsible for the attack and the reported firing. However, he later said only a police investigation could determine whether shots were actually fired.
Rivalry Angle
Police have so far arrested three people in connection with the incident, including the director of a rival coaching institute.
Meanwhile, members of the rival coaching institute held a press conference on Thursday and accused Khan Sir of orchestrating the incident himself.
Displaying the video allegedly showing the guards firing, a representative identified as Adarsh claimed that Khan Sir had created a false narrative around the firing.
"Police have found no evidence of firing, even though he claimed that seven to eight rounds were fired in front of him. The video clearly shows who is trying to create hype around the incident. Now footage has surfaced showing his own guards firing shots," Adarsh told reporters.
He further alleged that Khan Sir staged the incident to generate publicity and revive his "lagging teaching career", although he did not explain how such an incident would benefit the educator.
Police have not commented on these allegations, and the investigation remains ongoing.
